In this video series, we will be turning an old desktop from ebay into a very functional home server. This server will be a file server, cloud server and media server. We will be using SAMBA in order to send files from anywhere in the network to our server at high speeds. We will be using Nextcloud to access the files from outside of our network with a very modern web UI. We will be using Plex to create a media server that we will be able to access from within our network or outside of it, which also has mobile apps available for it. In order to do all this we need a server Linux distribution, and we will be using is Ubuntu Server 16.04.2.
