Lisa Gade reviews the redesigned Samsung Notebook 9 Pro, now available in 13.3 and 15 inch sizes. These are 2-in-1 convertible Windows 10 laptops that compete directly with the HP Spectre x360 and Lenovo Yoga 720. We look at the 15” model that sells for $1,299. It has an aluminum casing, color accurate 1920 x 1080 display supporting touch and the included S Pen (Wacom EMR), Intel Core i7-7500U 7th gen Kaby Lake CPU, AMD Radeon 540 2GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD.
The 17mm thick laptop has a backlit keyboard, Windows Hello camera, outdoor brightness mode, a USB-C port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, 3.5mm audio and a microSD card slot. It weighs 3.79 lb. /1.7kg, making it one of the lighter 15” convertibles on the market. The excellent pen makes it enticing to artists and avid note takers.
Pens in this video: The pencil style digital pen is the $45 Staedtler Noris. Wacom Bamboo Smart (the one with clip on the cap) and and an old Samsung Slate 7 pen. And of course the included S Pen that slows in the silo.
