What are the best iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 cases? Well, it’s easy for me to tell you because Apple hasn’t changed the general shape of the iPhone. And I've reviewed 100's of cases over the last few years.
Do you really need a case with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus? It really depends on how clumsy you are. The glass on the back of the new iPhone helps with the handling of the device but
I rate all the cases in the same manner to ensure I give you guys the best review. Getting your cases through my links helps me make more videos in the future! Doesn't cost you more and I'll get a bit of credit.
The Best iPhone 8 and 8 Plus Cases are:

Slim Case: Loopy Case - Case: Ghostek Cloak - Thanotech K11 Bumper - Case: Uolo 2-in-1 Wallet Case - Wallet Case: CM4 Q-card Case - Case: Otterbox Defender - Case: Apple Smart Battery Case - Case: Catalyst Waterproof - Case: HitCase Pro - Loopy Case - Spigen Thin-Fit 360 - Case Mate - BUDU or Rhinoshield Mod
Budget: Silk Innovation Base Grip - Best Slim Case - This might be contentious but I have to go with the Loopy Case. Sure it has an odd loop sticking out of the back but the moment your finger goes into the loop, the iPhone isn’t going anywhere.
If you’ve been watching my iPhone 8 torture test videos, every shot that is from a first person FOV has been shot with a Loopy case.
The Best Clear Case - The Ghostek Cloak isn’t a bad deal since it comes with two screen protectors and has a metal frame while still being a clear case.
The Best iPhone bumpers - For bumpers, I have to go with a Thanotech K11 Bumper. This tiny bumper can handle a 6ft drop without any issue and it preserves the look of the glass back on the iPhone 8 which is awesome.
The Best Tough Case - You can’t go wrong with an Otterbox Defender or Griffin Summit. The Summit is a little tougher from my perspective as it offers better water protection.
The Best Wallet case - I’d suggest you get a Uolo 2-in-1 Wallet folio case. The standout feature is the ability to use your iPhone without the actual wallet part.
The Best On-the-go Wallet case - The highest rated case on my list is the CM4 Q-Card case as it is a little fancier with the leather backing.
The Best Battery Case - Stick with the Apple’s Smart Battery Case. It slides on easily which means it is easy to keep in your laptop bag for times when you need an extra boost.
The Best Waterproof Case - The highest rated case for the iPhone 7 was the Catalyst waterproof as it offers the most water protection. The clear case allows you to show off your iPhone which is nice.
The Best Mountable iPhone Case - The best mountable iPhone case goes to the HitCase Pro or the ProShot. Both of these cases are compatible with GoPro mounts which means you can easily stick your iPhone in places where an iPhone shouldn’t be.
The Best Gaming Case - When it comes to iPhone gaming, the only thing I’m looking for is something to reduce hand cramping. With a new crop of AR games coming out, being able to keep your iPhone safe while moving around like a weirdo is going to be important.
The Best Ultra-Thin Case - The Spigen Thin-FIt 360 comes with two screen protectors, an area for a magnetic mount and covers most of your iPhone.
The Flashiest Case - When it comes to the flashiest cases, you can’t go wrong with anything from CaseMate. Just look at all these different cases. Casemate even have ones where the glitter moves around which is something some of you might like?
The Best Modular Case - The Rhinoshield Mod, it is one of the cases that I’m excited to see what Evolutive Labs does with the modular back. As of right now, the Mod comes with a camera attachment but they’re working on battery and a variety of different mounts.
If you need something right now, check out the BUDU case. The BUDU case is quite slim and sleek and all the attachments are magnetic so you don’t need to slide anything like the Otterbox uniVerse system.
The Best Budget Case - The last category in this video is the best budget case. That goes to Silk Innovation’s Basegrip. It feels like a 30 dollar case but only costs 12. Hard to beat that.
